*IMPORTANT NOTES*

SKATE CANADA FEES

Skate Canada fees are required to be paid by all participants ONCE during the skating year (Sept 1 - Aug 31). The system will automatically add this fee on your first registration for a skating season.
 

PUB TICKETS*

Each participant is required to purchase 2 tickets for the pub night. Each ticket is $20 and you can attend or sell your tickets.Tickets entitle the ticket holder to a burger and a beverage. Other details to follow.  Everyone is welcome to purchase additional tickets! 

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS*

Each participant is required to volunteer 5 hours with the club. Optionally you may choose to provide 5 potluck items, donate 1 raffle prize basket for pub night, or pay $50. 

*Canskate, Hockey Skills, Parent/Tot and Strictly Buy-On registrants are exempt from having to purchase

Program Description:

Our program is an action-packed, high energy instructional skating skills program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. We provide an alternative to figure skating and is an excellent complement for those athletes playing on hockey or ringette teams.

Pre requisite: Our program is designed for skaters who already have basic forward and backward skating skills and are able to stop on command without use of the boards.

Rep hockey players and hockey level 2 or by coaches discretion. 

 

Equipment: Skaters should wear full hockey/ringette gear (including sticks but no pucks).

Skate Canada's flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages. When you sign up for CanSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. You will earn badges and other incentives as you learn fundamental skating skills. Lessons are given in a group format and led by an NCCP certified professional coach. Professional coaches are assisted by trained Program Assistants. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning. CanSkate is the feeder program to all other Skate Canada Skating Programs.

A fun qualified instructor lead class.


All participants are required to abide by the helmet policy and everyone registered with a Skate Canada Club is required to pay the annual membership fee before registration can be finalized. This is available in the products section and can be purchased online as well.

Program Description:

Skate Canada's next step forward from the learn-to-skate program, designed for skaters who are advancing past the canskate requirements. This program further focuses on advancing skill development to learn fundamental skating skills. Coaches will be available for a portion but children in this level may be expected to practice skills independently between lesson times. Lessons are given in a group format and led by an NCCP certified professional coach. Private lesson times may be available pending the skill level of the skater. Professional coaches may be assisted by trained Program Assistants.

Prerequisite for Junior Academy is an invitation by a coach or by audition.
